Tyran and Chefitha Shavers
ALLEN, Texas — Tyran Shavers seems to have wanted his mom's new year to be filled with excitement. Tyran was born at 5:53 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2012.
“He came so fast,” said Chefitha Shavers. This is Shaver's second child to be born at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen. The Family Birthplace at the hospital was the first in Texas to be named a Baby-Friendly Hospital by the World Health Organization. The hospital offers a full complement of women’s services including a Level II neonatal intensive care unit.
“Our employees work diligently to provide a high level of care for our patients and we appreciate it when our patients come to us for such a special day of their lives,” said Sheila McKinney, hospital president. “The Family Birthplace offers great care close to home with amenities and technology to care for mothers and their babies.”
