Corsicana Man Finds Relief at Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services|
KAUFMAN, Texas — Louis Reznicek of Corsicana credits Wound Care Services* at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman for helping him get back to the basic pleasures of life, such as walking without pain.
For more than a year, Reznicek saw multiple physicians and specialists for his foot wound before being referred to Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services.
“They’ve been wonderful,” he said. “They’re really good at explaining everything to me.”
After about two months of treatment at Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services, Reznicek said his foot wound has healed and he “is running around like a jackrabbit.” With his wound healed, Reznicek is now better able to care for his wife.
“We see patients whose lives are just destroyed because of wounds that don’t heal,” said Candice Countryman, program director for Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services. “Many people do not know that these serious wounds that have festered for years can be healed, often times relatively quickly, with intensive wound care treatments. The great thing is that these services are close to home so that patients with serious wounds do not have to travel to outside Kaufman for treatment.”
Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services offers a comprehensive outpatient, hospital-based program to treat problem wounds that often are caused by circulatory problems, diabetes and other medical conditions.
Texas Health Kaufman Wound Care Services also features two hyperbaric oxygen chambers. Hyperbaric oxygen treatment facilitates faster healing because the treatment delivers high concentrations of oxygen directly into the patient’s blood stream and wound.
