Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Hires Community Relations Director

PLANO, Texas — Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano has named Mary Jo Dean its new director of community relations. As director of community relations, she will work closely with hospital leadership to promote Texas Health Plano’s community outreach efforts.

“Mary Jo Dean is a proven leader in the health-care community and we feel extremely fortunate to be adding her skills and experience to the Texas Health Plano team,” said Texas Health Plano President Dr. Jeffrey Canose.

Dean brings more than 20 years of experience working in Plano and with residents of the greater Collin County area. She joins Texas Health Plano from Medical Center of Plano, where she served as vice president of marketing.

“I’m delighted to have the opportunity to promote Texas Health Plano as an elite health-care provider in Collin County,” Dean said. “My job is to tell the hospital’s story and encourage others to share their own chapter in outstanding care at Texas Health Plano.”

In her role as director of community relations, Dean will lead Texas Health Plano’s numerous efforts to enhance the health of the community. A great example of this work includes the hospital’s $55,000 grant last March to the Plano Independent School District to improve fitness and overall health at six elementary schools.

Dean graduated from Fontbonne University in St. Louis, Mo., earning a degree in elementary education. She is a graduate of Leadership Plano, was named “Citizen of the Year” by the Plano Chamber of Commerce in 2006 and is a current member of the Plano Independent School District Education Foundation Board of Directors.
