Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano Names Chief Quality Officer

PLANO, Texas — Dr. Stephen K. Hadzima has been named chief quality officer at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. Hadzima, who is board-certified in internal medicine, has worked as both a practicing physician and a leader of quality programs.

In his new role, Hadzima is responsible for initiatives, programs and achievements in quality management, patient safety, risk management, infection control and care management.

“Dr. Hadzima brings a wonderful perspective and a passion for quality improvement efforts,” said Dr. Jeffrey Canose, hospital president. “At Texas Health Plano we are always looking for ways to better care for our patients and Dr. Hadzima is playing a crucial role in those efforts.”

Prior to joining Texas Health Plano, Hadzima served as senior medical director and vice president at UnitedHealthcare Medicare Solutions. He also served as the central region chief medical officer.

“I am excited to join Texas Health Plano and continue the hospital’s initiatives to provide high quality care to each patient,” Hadzima said. “Quality process in health care continues to evolve with new technology and ways of caring for patients. The employees and physicians on the medical staff at Texas Health Plano are committed to employing the latest techniques.”

Hadzima holds bachelor and doctor of medicine degrees from the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency at Saint Louis University. He also holds a master’s degree in business administration from the Washington University Olin School of Business Executive Program. Hadzima is an examiner for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

Hadzima is married to Dr. Laurie Reitman and has two daughters. In his spare time, he enjoys running marathons and is signed up to participate in two marathons this fall.
