New Texas Health Springwood Program Helps Women Diagnosed with Cancer Fight Depression

BEDFORD, Texas — Texas Health Springwood Hospital opened Texas’ first hospital-based program to help female cancer patients cope with depression and anxiety.
The women’s oncology program, offered at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford and Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, offers free mental health assessments to women diagnosed with cancer. MORE

Physicians on the medical staff and the program's other health care professionals offer a full continuum of care for inpatients and outpatients, including:
- Prevention, education and community outreach
- Diagnosis
- Interdisciplinary treatment planning
- Surgery, including neurological, breast and colon
- Radiation therapy through a partnership with Texas Oncology and Arlington Cancer Center
- Chemotherapy and biotherapy
- Transfusion services
- Pain management
- Rehabilitation services
- Counseling for patients and families
