Pediatric Speech Therapy

Infants, toddlers and preschoolers have developing brains that are designed to learn communication and swallowing skills. That's why early intervention — identifying problems and delays and beginning speech therapy — is critical.

Speech pathology services at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is committed to providing that early intervention and working closely with parents to deliver the therapy that will lead to the best outcome. We recognize that speech therapy can be intimidating for children and anxiety-inducing for parents. That's why therapists at Texas Health Plano design programs that are fun for kids and full of information and at-home ideas for parents.

The speech pathology program provides services for children with:

  • Speech disorders (including motor speech disorders)
  • Voice disorders
  • Fluency disorders
  • Cognitive disorders
  • Passy Muir Speaking Valve training and vocal cord dysfunction treatment

Upon referral, an evaluation of your child's condition will be performed to identify problem areas, therapeutic needs and potential benefit from therapy.
