Imaging / Radiology

The Imaging/Radiology department at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford offers a wide variety of advanced diagnostic services and is accredited by the American College of Radiology in Computed Tomography (CT), Nuclear Medicine and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Highlights of equipment include:

  • 64-slice GE Light Speed® CT scanner with ASiR technology, which can reduce your radiation dose during a CT scan by as much as 40 percent. The scanner produces up to 64 cross-sectional images ("slices") that are reconstructed to form a complete, precise image at a lower dose of radiation.
  • GE Signa Excite 1.5 Tesla HD MRI, which provides faster scan times and extremely high resolution images. MRI is a medical imaging technique used in radiology to visualize detailed internal structures. Unlike traditional X-rays, MRI uses no radiation. Instead it uses a powerful magnetic field to align protons in the body and radio frequency fields to construct an image.
  • GE Infinia camera with nuclear diagnostic imaging studies. Nuclear medicine is the imaging of the body using nuclear pharmaceuticals to create a picture. Tests can vary in length, and most tests require an injection or ingestion of some kind. The most common nuclear medicine studies performed are bone scans, lung scans, gallbladder, kidney, and thyroid exams.
  • Two GE Logic 9 Ultrasound units with two-dimensional and color Doppler imaging capabilities. During the ultrasound examination, a transducer is used to view the target organ and produce pictures for study. The transducer emits sound and detects the returning echoes.
  • Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) and Voice Recognition Dictation system. These advanced electronic diagnostic imaging systems allow physicians to remotely access and review images and reports online, which can lead to improved patient care.
  • Electronic Medical Record (CareConnect) is a computerized record of patient health information generated by one or more visits to our facility. The immediate access to all of your medical records allows us to provide you with the highest quality health care.

To provide patients with inclusive radiological care, registered and licensed health care professionals administer diagnostic tests under the supervision of board-certified Radiologists.

Texas Health HEB also offers Interventional Radiology.

CT Scanner
Texas Health HEB is proud to feature the 64-slice GE Light Speed® CT scanner with ASiRTM technology. This cutting edge technology can reduce your exposure to radiation during a CT scan by up to 40 percent.

This configured system offers exceptional image quality, giving your physician the performance they need for confident patient diagnoses. The hardware and software advances in this configured system provide enhanced clinical advantages, exceptional image quality, lower radiation dose levels, and optimal coverage. It is ideal for whole-body imaging and neurological imaging needs.

If your physician has ordered a CT scan for you, ask about having your procedure done on the low-dose 64-slice GE Light Speed® CT scanner with ASiRTM technology available at Texas Health HEB.

Interventional Radiology
Interventional radiology includes, but is not limited to:

  • Diagnostic Angiography
  • Peripheral Vascular Stenting and Renal Stenting
  • IVC Filter Placement
  • Urinary and Biliary Interventions
  • Portacath and Dialysis Catheter Placement
