Child Passenger Safety Technicians (CPST) are nationally certified through Safe Kids Worldwide, the current certifying body for the National Child Passenger Safety Training Program.

Texas Health Resources has invested in certifying and maintaining certification of CPSTs in order to provide educational opportunities and adequate staff at safety check locations and during educational events held within the hospitals and local communities including schools, child care facilities, and faith based organizations.

What should you, as a caregiver, expect from a Child Passenger Safety Technician?

As a caregiver you should leave confident that your child's seat is installed correctly AND that you are comfortable reinstalling and using it correctly. The CPS Technician should take all the time necessary to ensure that you feel competent and confident in re-securing the car seat into the vehicle and re-buckling your child into the car seat on your own.
