When you become a volunteer at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville, you join a team of caring professionals whose mission is to improve the health of the people in the community they serve. Together with physicians on the medical staff, their vision is to be recognized by the community for faith-based care delivery, illness prevention and health education.

Volunteer Program
By escorting patients, assisting nurses, staffing the information desk, offering clerical assistance and providing a helping hand and warm smile for people in need, volunteers make a difference. Texas Health Stephenville is looking for people who have enthusiasm, a desire for challenge and a willingness to devote their time and energy to serving others. Volunteers must be 18 or older to participate.

There are many benefits to becoming a volunteer. In addition to helping others, volunteers have the opportunity to meet new friends, learn new skills, gain new insights and achieve a sense of accomplishment. One free meal is also provided to volunteers while working at the hospital, either breakfast or lunch, served before 3 p.m.

Volunteers are asked to wear a uniform while on duty so patients, staff members and other volunteers can easily identify them. The volunteer uniform for women is a pink smock or vest, white slacks and white shoes. The uniform for men is a mallard colored vest, white slacks and white shoes. Uniform vests and smocks are available to purchase in the hospital.

Volunteers are needed in these areas:

  • Admissions
  • Day Surgery
  • Gift Shop
  • Information Desk
  • Medical Records
  • Nursing Stations
  • Pain Management Clinic
  • Pharmacy

The Texas Health Stephenville Auxiliary was formed in 1982. The auxiliary and its volunteers have contributed many thousands of hours to the hospital. Volunteer efforts have helped refurbish areas within the hospital and have helped purchase multiple patient equipment items. The auxiliary holds fundraising events each year and is currently working on a new building project.
