Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas offers full emergency services 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The emergency room is staffed by independent full-time physicians who are board certified in emergency medicine and by nurses certified in emergency care and advanced life support. Emergency physicians on the medical staff and the nurses and technicians participate in ongoing continuing education programs to keep abreast of current trends and developments in emergency care.
Texas Health Dallas' emergency facilities are as specialized as the staff. The department is equipped to meet needs that range from heart attack to broken bones, sexual assault to colds, asthma attacks to poisoning. We realize that time is of the essence when you visit the emergency room. On average, the wait time is less than 30 minutes from when you arrive until the time you are being seen by a physician or nurse.
Because time is especially important for patients with chest pain, Texas Health Dallas has a special area in the emergency room dedicated solely to chest pain patients. We were the first hospital in Dallas to achieve chest pain center accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers, which is an elite mark of excellence in caring for heart attack patients. In addition, the department is accredited by the Joint Commission to treat emergency stroke patients.
For minor care needs, we offer a fast-track area designed to expedite care for conditions such as colds and minor sports injuries. The fast-track area is open daily from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and available for the cost of your emergency insurance co-pay.
While our focus is on efficient, quality care for patients of all severity levels, our emergency room amenities provide comfort, convenience and security for patients in our recently renovated facility. Each of our 56 private patient rooms has wireless Internet access and a flat-screen TV for your convenience.
Remember, if you are experiencing a true medical emergency, call 911.
