Heart disease is the number one killer in our community. As the community hospital, that makes cardiac care at Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital an important priority.

We've invested $5 million to update our existing cardiac services and add new ones, including state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs, Arlington's first electrophysiology (EP) lab and a 64-slice cardiac CT scanner.

We've also expanded and revamped our cardiac rehab facilities. Texas Health Arlington Memorial recently earned accreditation as a Cycle III Chest Pain Center for meeting high standards of performance in cardiac emergencies.

To provide care specifically for heart failure patients, Texas Health Arlington Memorial opened the city's only outpatient clinic – devoted to providing comprehensive heart failure care.

The clinic is part of a $23 million expansion of the Cravens Emergency Department.

Program aims to improve care for patients with congestive heart failure

Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital has begun a quality-improvement initiative that focuses on the transition of care beyond the hospital setting. Designed by the Institute for Healthcare Improvement, the program is also being implemented at Texas Health hospitals in Fort Worth, Dallas and Kaufman and will soon be deployed at other Texas Health hospitals.
