eLink is simple solution to give you email & intranet on the go
Do you have trouble opening links in your email or our newsletters, when trying to view content on your mobile device or smartphone and you’re outside the THRStaff Wi-Fi network?
There’s an easy way to safely and securely access information found in The Scoop and on MyTexasHealth, the Texas Health employee intranet site that receives that receives 4.8 million page views per month.
Take MyTexasHealth with you wherever you go — at home, in the coffee shop or in line at the grocery store — by following these instructions:
1. Visit elink.texashealth.org.
2. Log in with your THR credentials — this is the same username and password you use to log in to your email.
3. Download the free application to allow you access to both your Texas Health Outlook email and the MyTexasHealth intranet site.
Once the download is completed and launched, you've successfully logged into the Texas Health network. Simply click the icon of the application you want to open.
The applications you've been given access to, such as Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Office Suite, will be available once inside eLink. The Internet Explorer browser that opens from here is located on the Texas Health network, so intranet sites such as PeopleSoft, MyTexasHealth and others are available.
If there are additional applications that you wish to run while mobile, they can be added to your Citrix account; a request just needs to be submitted to the help desk.
In itself, eLink is Texas Health’s web gateway to get to our Citrix server, a tool that provides remote access to employees via the web. By logging on to the Citrix app on mobile devices, you bypass the need to use the web (eLink).
You only have to download the app once; the next time you need mobile access to email and the intranet, open the downloaded app on your device.
If your mobile device is connected to the THRStaff Wi-Fi and you’re already logged into the Texas Health network, accessing your email and MyTexasHealth is as simple as a quick click.
Using eLink and the Citrix app are necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of our network. We are already working on a long-term solution for mobile devices — including iPhone and Android — as part of the development of our new intranet site, scheduled to debut in 2013.
