A Better View of YouOffering the latest imaging technology means patients are able to receive a fast, accurate diagnosis. At Texas Health Burleson, this means offering advanced imaging services — including the acquisition of an open-field magnetic resonance imaging (MRI ) scanner.
An MRI scan is used to diagnose or examine a variety of conditions affecting the soft tissues in the body, such as muscles, tendons and even the brain. While most MRI scanners involve lying in an enclosed tube, Texas Health Burleson offers an open MRI scanner. This means patients are able to undergo a needed scan without being in an enclosed space.
“Our digital, open MRI unit helps our patients receive faster test results, but it’s also suited for more patients, such as those who may be claustrophobic or whose weight may have prohibited them from using a conventional MRI,” says Becky Tucker, M.B.A., M.H.A., facility director for Texas Health Burleson.
The Texas Health Burleson Imaging Department offers numerous other imaging services, including digital mammography, which can provide clearer images of dense breast tissue.
“We offer these imaging services to the community for the patient’s convenience, so patients don’t have to drive 20 minutes to Fort Worth,” says Lance Tahmahkera, R.T., manager of the Imaging Department at Texas Health Burleson. “That’s the purpose of all the services offered at Texas Health Burleson — to offer greater access and efficient results.”
