Honors, Awards and Recognition

  • Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth received the Premier AEIX Risk Management Award in 2011.
  • A cooking team from Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth earned second place in the American Culinary Federation's 2011 National Championship: Cooking for Life competition. Team members included:
    • Kelly Cook, food services manager & executive chef
    • Sam Samuels, registered dietician & director of nutrition services
  • Kathy Rhodes, coordinator of infection prevention at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth, received a "Hero of Infection Prevention" award from the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology. Both the Star-Telegram and Fort Worth Business Press reported on the story.  
  • Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth received the Five-Star Hospital Award from the Bureau of Vital Statistics at the Department of State Health Services for six years.
  • Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth was recognized with the 2007 Premier Award for Quality for Excellence in the care of patients in the area of heart failure.
  • Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth was selected as the 2005 Employer of the Year in the Non-Profit category by the Rotary Club of Fort Worth.
  • In February 2004, the Respiratory Care Department was named a "quality respiratory care provider" for the second year in a row by the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC), which launched the Quality Respiratory Care Recognition (QRCR) program in 2003 to help consumers make informed choices about their health care. Hospitals recognized under the program promote patient safety by agreeing to adhere to a strict set of criteria governing their respiratory care services.
  • Voted one of the Top Regional Hospitals in the West South Central region in 1999 for inclusion in Solucient's 100 Top Hospitals: Cardiovascular Benchmarks for Success Study
