Facilities at the hospital include seven operating rooms, a cystoscopy suite, an endoscopy suite and a post-anesthesia care unit. Surgical services also include an outpatient pre-surgical assessment center. All patients have private rooms before their procedure — giving them the opportunity to visit confidentially with perioperative and anesthesia teams. The hospital's operating rooms feature several advanced technologies, including:

  • The da Vinci® Surgical System, a new advanced, surgical robot that provides a less invasive alternative to traditional surgery for hysterectomies and prostatectomies.
  • High definition monitors allow for clearer imaging and better depth perception for all minimally invasive arthroscopies, laparoscopies, cystoscopies and endoscopic sinus surgeries.
  • Initiation of the electronic health record begins in the Operating Room at Harris Methodist Southwest Hospital, allowing for computerized nursing notes and computerized radiology imaging. Utilizing the PACS, physicians can pull up reports within the OR while maintaining attention to the patient.
  • InstaTrak® 3500 Plus Surgical Navigation System, an advanced ENT application that provides information from medical imaging that assists the surgeon in accurately detecting anatomical structures in the body during endoscopic ENT procedures.
  • GreenLightTM laser system for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
  • Slings and implants to improve female urinary incontinence.
  • Endometrial ablation to remove the endometrium (uterine lining) while preserving the uterus to reduce or eliminate bleeding.
  • Gynecare Prolift for anterior, posterior and total pelvic floor repair, which uses a soft mesh implant designed for optimal tissue holding.

In addition to these surgical technologies and procedures, endoscopic ultrasound procedures for gastrointestinal and pulmonary conditions are available at Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth. Diagnostic and therapeutic ERCPs (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) are also available for diagnosing and treating conditions of the bile ducts, including gall stones, inflammatory strictures (scars), leads (from trauma and surgery) and cancer.

Medical staff and surgical services are available to patients 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Plus, the hospital's Rehabilitation Services provide the care patients need to get back to their daily activities following surgery.
