Honors, Awards and Recognition

  • Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas has been awarded the 2009 Outstanding Achievement Award by the American College of Surgeons, one of the highest honors for cancer programs in the United States. The honor is the highest accreditation given by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer. Only eight hospitals in Texas have received the designation.
  • 257 physicians with active privileges on the medical staffs at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospitals in Allen, Dallas and Plano were recognized on the 2007 D Magazine "Best Doctors" list.
  • In 2007, Texas Health Dallas is proud to be recognized as a U.S. News and World Report Best Hospital for Digestive Disorders, Neurology and Neurosurgery and Orthopedics specialties.
  • Texas Health Dallas has been designated a Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence by the American Society of Bariatric Surgery (ASBS), one of the highest distinctions for weight-loss surgery programs in the United States.
  • In April 2007, the Texas Nurses Association named 11 nurses on staff to its annual list of "Great 100 Nurses."
  • Dallas Child magazine named Texas Health Dallas "Best" in all applicable categories in the 2006 "Best for Families" readership poll. 
  • Texas Health Dallas has received the Magnet Recognition Program Award for excellence in nursing services from the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), the nation's largest and leading nursing credentialing organization within the American Nurses Association (ANA).
  • Texas Health Dallas is the first hospital in Texas and only the second in the nation to receive accreditation for Stroke Specialty Programs by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).
  • Texas Health Dallas has been recognized by the 2005 Solucient 100 Top Hospitals® Performance Improvement Leaders Award for its success in continuous improvement in clinical outcomes, patient safety and operation. The study was designed to objectively assess the effectiveness of performance improvement programs in hospitals across the country.
  • Texas Health Dallas was the winner of the 2005 Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons Outstanding Achievement Award for Excellence in Care to Cancer Patients. The hospital also received the 2005 Commission on Cancer of the American College of Surgeons Outstanding Achievement Award for excellence in care to cancer patients.
  • The Comprehensive Cancer Program has received the highest level of approval from the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. The program received three-year Approval with Commendation for exceeding the requirements for full approval.
  • Texas Health Resources was named "Best Baby Talk" by D Magazine in August 2005, in recognition of baby sign language classes offered at its hospitals in Allen, Dallas and Plano. 
  • The Assisted Reproductive Technology Services (ARTS) Program, offered at hospitals in Dallas and Plano, was named one of the "10 Best Fertility Centers" in the United States, as researched by Child magazine.
  • Five Texas Health Dallas nurses received the prestigious Circle of Excellence Member Awards from the American Association of Critical Care Nurses
