Criteria for Application Thank you for your interest in our program. The Internal Medicine Residency Program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas only accepts applications through the ERAS system. You can apply through the ERAS system from Sept. 1, 2009 to Dec. 15, 2009. We will not accept any applications that arrive through mail or fax, only through the ERAS system. Most of our residents have scored an 85 or above as their two digit scores on the USMLE's (on first attempts only).
Additionally, we ask that our applicants have allowed no more than two years to pass since they have graduated medical school. This means that an applicant who has been out of medical school for more than two years (graduating before 2007) will not be considered, unless you have clinical experience such as training in Internal Medicine or teaching experience. We do accept foreign medical graduates, however, we only sponsor J-1 visas, no exceptions. U.S. clinical experience is not required, but is highly encouraged. In addition, we do not offer observerships/externships to individuals outside of our program. You would need to apply to our program and be invited for an interview. Once you have an interview date secured you would then be able to request an observership. For further information about our program, please visit our Web site.
