Services for Adults and Adolescents

If you or someone you love is suffering from the despair, loneliness, or hopelessness caused by behavioral health problems or substance abuse, the Seay Behavioral Health Center at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano can help. Programs at the center address the physical, emotional, spiritual and interpersonal needs of patients in a safe, structured and caring environment.

The Seay Behavioral Health Center offers a wide range of inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization programs for adolescents and adults. Programs at the center are designed to meet the individualized needs of patients. Services at the center include:

Inpatient Psychiatric Services
Focused on crisis stabilization, the Inpatient Psychiatric Program offers comprehensive evaluation, crisis management and treatment under the supervision of a board-certified psychiatrist. The Seay Behavioral Health Center includes a 12-bed unit for adolescents and a 16-bed unit for adults. Commonly treated illness include depression, mood disorders, major depressive disorders, bipolar disorders, anxiety disorders and substance abuse disorders including inpatient detoxification.

Inpatient Chemical Dependency Program
Focuses on detoxification from alcohol and/or other mind-altering substances which involve intensive nursing and medical monitoring. The goals of the program are to provide medically managed detoxification and help patients begin a sober lifestyle through a 12-step recovery program as well as patient and family education.

Snack break at Seay Behavioral Health CenterBehavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program
The Behavioral Health Intensive Outpatient Program is designed for individuals who do not require inpatient or partial hospital services but need more intensive treatment than individual therapy. The program addresses the physical, emotional, spiritual and interpersonal needs of individuals with emotional difficulties and stressful life situations. The program provides a safe place to talk, to learn problem solving and stress reducing skills.

Women's Intensive Outpatient Program
This program is designed to meet the unique needs of women suffering from depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, and those having difficulty with adjusting to stressful life events. The women's program addresses the emotional, spiritual and interpersonal needs of women with depressive disorders and stressful life situations.

Adolescent Services
With the daily involvement of family members, the Seay Behavioral Health Center provides specialized psychiatric and substance abuse treatment for adolescents ages 12 to 17 through inpatient, partial and intensive outpatient hospitalization services.

Adolescent Psychiatric Partial Hospital Program
Less restrictive than the Seay Center's inpatient program, the Partial Hospital Program allows adolescent patients to reside at home while receiving services at the hospital during the day. The goal of the Partial Hospital Program is to help stabilize patients by helping them learn and practice the cognitive behavioral skills necessary for daily living, self-management and establish a discharge plan to support safe and healthy daily living. Family members are encouraged to participate in the patient's treatment and the program's educational sessions.
