Babycare Basics

This one-time class will teach you to parent your baby in the first days in the hospital and the first weeks at home. Topics include immediate care of the baby after birth, what new babies look like and do, and how you can be an expert with feeding, diapering, bathing, swaddling, and taking your baby's temperature. You will learn about methods to calm your baby and leave the class with increased confidence and survival skills for caring for your new baby in the first weeks. In addition to the Baby Care Basics, Texas Health Resources offers two related classes. Baby Safety/CPR and Car Seats and Baby's First Year are additional classes that cover the weeks and months after your baby's arrival. Plan to attend all three for a complete look at caring for your newborn. Parking will be validated. Park in the Visitors Parking Garage and take the elevator to the Plaza Level. The glass doors will take you into the Education Center. Check the overhead monitor for the classroom location. You are eligible for a discount if you plan to attend at least three prenatal classes. REFUND To receive a refund you must cancel your class two weeks prior to the start of the class. Refunds will not be permitted after 120 days of class registration. To reschedule your class, you must call two weeks prior to the start of the class to avoid a rescheduling fee.
