Community Aquatics Class
Whether you are recovering from surgery or an illness or are interested in increasing your strength or cardiovascular stamina, our community aquatics class is designed to allow you to adjust your intensity to meet your goals.
Water exercise is non-weight-bearing; the buoyancy of the water is ideal for increasing your range of motion, strength, cardiovascular conditioning and muscle tone with less pressure on your joints.
The class includes a 10-minute "meet and greet" and warm-up; 40 minutes of exercises; and 10 minutes for continuing your favorite exercises or cooling down.
The indoor therapy pools at Texas Health Plano have a salt-water system, which is gentler on the skin and respiratory system. The pool is kept at a warm 90º-94º F, which is the most comfortable for arthritic conditions. For entering the pool, you can use the four steps with handrail or chair lift. The pool has three depths to meet your needs: 4 feet, 4.5 feet and 6 feet.
When you come to the class, please bring:
- A swimsuit or dark colored T-shirt and shorts
- Water shoes for improved safety and traction
- A towel
- Your smile
