Heartsaver AED
This is a one day class.
The Heartsaver courses cover a lot of material in a short time. CPR, choking relief and warning signs of cardiovascular emergencies are topics included in the basic emergency life-support class. The course follows the AHA guidelines for content and protocol of an integrated course on adult CPR and the use of AED.
Please read the workbook before you come to the course. Also, you should review the video clips on your student CD. This will help you learn more during the course and make you more comfortable with the material. Your workbook may be picked up in advance from the education department. Please call 254-965-1262 for assistance.
Be sure to bring your book with you because you will use it during class.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing. You will be practicing skills that may require working on your hands and knees. When you arrive for class, please let one of the instructors know if you have any physical conditions that might prevent your participation in these activities. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems. Also, please tell your instructor if you are allergic to latex.
