Lamaze Natural Childbirth

This class meets five times for 2 1/2 hours each session. This class is designed for those who plan to use coping skills and comfort measures to manage the challenges of labor. In this course you are in an environment with other couples who desire a natural birth. An overview of medications, medical interventions, and Cesarean birth is included, but the focus will be on building confidence to help you give birth without anesthesia. Topics include: *Pain Management Skills *Labor support skills *Relaxation and breathing techniques *What to expect with various labor patterns *Setting -your birth environment *Maternity tour *Life with baby Couples need to bring two pillows of any kind and a blanket or comforter. A complimentary Early Pregnancy Class is included in the price of this class, however you must also register for a separate Early Pregnancy class. An anesthesia class is also offered at no additional cost. We strongly recommend taking your class at the hospital where you are having your baby. This class is located in room 114 of the Texas Health Resources University, conveniently located on the campus of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas. Turn west off of Greenville Avenue onto Phoenix Drive to enter the campus of Texas Health Presbyterian Dallas (this is marked as entrance D). Turn left off of Phoenix Drive and proceed past the Texas Institute for Surgery to the Texas Health Resources University Building on the right. The parking lot will be on your left. Parking for all Texas Health Resources University events is free. The physical address is 8194 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas, Tx. 75231. Please check board for classroom location. REFUND To receive a partial refund you must cancel your class two weeks prior to the start of the class. Refunds will not be permitted after 120 days of class registration. A processing fee is charged on all refunds. To reschedule your class you must call two weeks prior to the start of the class to avoid a rescheduling fee.
