The Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Hurst-Euless-Bedford Event Board was founded in 1986 to raise funds for capital projects and programs. The board stages an annual black tie charity gala to achieve its fund-raising goals. The 50-plus member board meets monthly and is made up of community leaders in Northeast Tarrant County.
The Texas Health Harris Methodist HEB Hospital Event Board has raised more $2 million. The board supports the following programs and events:
- Cardiac care
- Pediatric unit
- Neonatal ICU
- Oncology
- Family domestic violence
- Nursing Enrichment Endowment
- Bluebonnet Retreat
Bluebonnet Retreat, the first adult cancer camp in Texas, has impacted the lives of more than 250 people. The chair and the honorary host of the Annual Charity Gala are invited to serve on the camp Planning Committee. Many board members serve as camp volunteers.
