Post-operative Antibiotic Therapy Administration to Patients Undergoing Internal Fixation of Fractures (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
The primary purpose of this study is to evaluate patient safety regarding antibiotic administration during the transition from paper based to CPOE(Computerized Physician Order Entry),using the standard administration of post-operative antibiotics in patients undergoing the internal fixation of fractures as an indicator.
Patients 18 to 100 years of age.
Admitted to single orthopedic trauma surgeon.
Treated with internal fixation for fracture.
Orders for Post-operative antibiotics ordered by the single surgeon.
Patients undergoing outpatient surgery.
Patients having severe allergic reactions to antibiotic medications.
