Carotid Stenting for High Surgical-Risk Patients; Evaluating Outcomes Through The Collection of Clinical Evidence (Heart/Stent)
The purpose of this study is to gather additional information on the stents by following the use of the device in regular practice in up to 500 different sites in the United States.
Patient or Patient's legally authorized representative provided informed consent.
Patient is considered high risk for carotid endarterectomy.
Patient requires percutaneous carptod amgoplasty and stenting for cartoid artery disease.
Patient's physician intends to use an RX Acculink with the RX Accunet or an Xact with the Emboshield in the carotid artery as per the FDA approved indications for use:
*Patients with neurological symtoms and >50% stenosis of the common or internal carotid artery
* OR Patients without neurological symtoms and >80% stenosis of the common or internal carotid artery.
