Study to Compare Post-Operative Wound Healing for Fractures Using a #10 Blake Drain versus Platelet Rich Plasma (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
The primary objective of this study is to determine the difference in wound healing complications between patients that receive the #10 Blake drain intra-operatively and those that have an application of platelet rich plasma at the fracture site, intra-operatively.
Patients with a calcaneal fracture requiring surgical intervention.
18 years or older.
The patient or patient’s legal representative will have signed a voluntary informed consent form.
Patient has a calcaneal fracture that is non-surgical.
Patient or patient’s representative is unable or unwilling to sign a voluntary informed consent form.
Thrombocytopenia with a platelet count less than 50,000.
