Title   Treatment and Outcomes of Femoral Shaft Fractures with Proximal Locking Screws (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
Description   Patients that have suffered a break in the mid portion of the long thigh bone. This is repaired with screws that lock and these normally are measured during surgery by drilling into the bone to measure the length of the screw necessary to repair the injury.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • 18-99 years of age.

  • Seen by PI from 6/1/02 to 10/31/08.

  • CPT code for 27506 –open treatment of femoral shaft fracture with or without external fixation, with insertion of intramedullary implant, with or without cerclage and/or locking screws is going to be evaluated for this protocol.

EXCLUSION:
  • Patients must meet all inclusion/exclusion criteria in order to be included in the study.
