Title   Use of the PEAK PlasmaBladeTM 4.0 total knee replacement (Orthopedics / Knee Replacement)
Description   This is a prospective review to examine operative metrics and post-operative outcomes in total knee replacement (TKR) surgery with the PEAK PlasmaBlade 4.0 compared to the current standard of care (SOC), scalpel and traditional electrosurgery.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Age between 20 and 70 years old.

  • Physically healthy, stable weight.

  • Undergone single or bilateral total knee replacement.

EXCLUSION:
  • Age younger than 20 years or greater than 80 years old.

  • Severe cardiopulmonary deficiencies.

  • Known coagulopathy.

  • Taking any anticoagulation medication during the time of surgery.

  • Taking any medication known to affect healing during the time of surgery.

  • Prior gastric banding or gastric bypass.

  • Infection, local or systemic, prior to surgery.
