Title   Are CT's Helpful in Planning Reconstructive Surgery for Tibial Fractures? (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
Description   The purpose of this study is to evaluate the usefulness of computed tomography (CT) soft tissue windows in pre-operative planning reconstructive surgery of adult patients being treated for fractures of the tibial plafond while looking toward to avoiding complications.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Be between the ages of 18 and 99 years.

  • Subjects with a tibial plafond fracture.

  • Subjects that require treatment with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code-27826-Open treatment of fracture of weight bearing articular surface/portion of distal tibia (eg, pilon or tibial plafond), with internal fixation, when performed section; of fibula only.

  • 27827- Open treatment of fracture of weight bearing articular surface/portion of distal tibia (eg, pilon or tibial plafond), with internal fixation, when performed section; of tibia only.

EXCLUSION:
  • Less than 18 years old or greater than 65 years old.

  • Subjects without a tibial plafond fracture.

  • Subjects that will not require treatment with Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) code-27826-Open treatment of fracture of weight bearing articular surface/portion of distal tibia (eg, pilon or tibial plafond),with internal fixation, when performed section; of fibula only. 27827- Open treatment of fracture of weight bearing articular surface/portion of distal tibia.
