Title	Hypoventilation in Metabolic Alkalosis (Internal Medicine)
Description	Metabolic alkalosis is a common condition in which the body becomes more alkalotic (less acidotic) due to excessive loss of acid from the body or excessive retention of bicarbonate. Hypoventilation is a decrease in the depth of lung respiration.

Inclusion/Notes	INCLUSION: Adults of either gender. Age 18 or greater in whom a blood gas sample is available. Arterial plasma pH > 7.45. Arterial pCO2 > 45 mmHg. EXCLUSION: Anyone who does not meet the description.
