Title   Treatment and Complications in Orthopedic Trauma Patients With Pulmonary Emboli
Description   The purpose of this study is to characterize the presentation, size, treatment, and complications in a larger series of orthopedic trauma patients who developed pulmonary emboli after injury.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Orthopaedic trauma (i.e fracture only) patients who sustained a pulmonary embolism as diagnosed by an imaging study within 6 months of index injury.

  • 18 years and older.

  • Non fracture patients.

  • Patients with only DVT (deep vein thrombosis) rather than pulmonary embolism.

  • Patients that developed a pulmonary embolism greater than 6 months post injury.

  • Patients with only spinal fractures as their only orthopedic injury.
