Near-Infared Brain Imaging for the Bedside Monitoring of Intracranial Pressure Buildup in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (Traumatic Brain Injury)
The purpose of this study is to use a light-based technology known as functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure changes in how much oxygen is in the blood in the brain in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Severe TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS4-8) or
Moderate TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale 9-12).
Age greater than or equal to 18 years.
Ability to read and understand English.
Glasgow Coma Scale < 4 or 13-15.
Previous Brain Injury.
Previous Psychiatric History.
Previous History of anti-seizure medicines.
Previous History of Stimulant Medications in adults with ADD/ADHD.
