Disease or Condition   Traumatic Brain Injury
Title   Near-Infared Brain Imaging for the Bedside Monitoring of Intracranial Pressure Buildup in Patients with Traumatic Brain Injury (Traumatic Brain Injury)
Description   The purpose of this study is to use a light-based technology known as functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) to measure changes in how much oxygen is in the blood in the brain in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Severe TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale (GCS4-8) or
    Moderate TBI (Glasgow Coma Scale 9-12).

  • Age greater than or equal to 18 years.

  • Ability to read and understand English.

  • Glasgow Coma Scale < 4 or 13-15.
  • Previous Brain Injury.

  • Previous Psychiatric History.

  • Previous History of anti-seizure medicines.

  • Previous History of Stimulant Medications in adults with ADD/ADHD.
