Title   The Effects of Iliofascial Block on Internal Fixation of Hip Fractures (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
Description   The primary objective of this study is evaluate if a regional block has any effect on pain tolerance and if this effects the fracture repair because subjects will potentially weight bear more after surgery because of the decreased pain that they may feel.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Age 60 years or greater.

  • Isolated intertrochanteric femur fracture.

  • Required treatment with a cephalomedullary device.

  • General anesthesia.

EXCLUSION:
  • Less than 60 years old.

  • Pathologic fracture.

  • Subjects who experienced associated fractures which may influence the postoperative rehabilitation.

  • A history of contralateral hip fracture.

  • Baseline dementia.

  • Spinal anesthesia.
