Title   Retrospective Case Series of Open Fractures Treated With Early Debridement using Standard of Care (Orthopedics / Fracture Repair)
Description   The purpose of this study is to review patients that had a broken bone that caused and opening in the skin that had an extensive surgical cleaning with saline and baby shampoo per recommended amounts of saline and soap. We propose that there is no difference in castile soap and baby shampoo.

Inclusion/Notes   INCLUSION:
  • Subjects between the ages of 18 and 100 years.

  • Subjects who experienced an open fracture of the lower extremity.

  • Required treatment from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.

EXCLUSION:
  • Less than 18 years old or greater than 100 years old.

  • Subjects who did not experience an open fracture of the lower extremity.

  • Did not require treatment from January 1, 2008 to December 31, 2011.
