Neurosciences Overview

Over the past decade, the Neuroscience Program at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas has made a renewed commitment to providing clinical excellence and compassionate care to patients faced with health conditions that affect the brain, spine and nervous system. Texas Health Dallas has been a leader in the North Texas area offering leading-edge technologies and treatment options for conditions such as stroke, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy and brain tumors.

At Texas Health Dallas, there is an interdisciplinary approach where neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuroradiologists and neuropsychologists work together to diagnose and treat neurological disorders. Texas Health Dallas offers a broad continuum of neuroscience services:

  • Patient information, education and support services at the Neuroscience Information and Referral Center
  • Joint Commission accredited stroke program, including TPA (clot-busting drug)
  • Gamma Knife™ radiosurgery for brain tumors, interventional neuro-radiology for aneurysms and BrainSuite® (intraoperative magnetic resonance imaging)
  • CARF accredited inpatient rehabilitation unit and comprehensive outpatient rehabilitation and wellness program
  • Level IV epilepsy monitoring unit, epilepsy surgery program and sleep laboratory
  • Neuropsychology evaluation and cognitive disorders program
  • Specialized neurosurgery for spine and deep brain stimulation surgery for Parkinson’s disease
  • Advanced neuroimaging, including 3T MRI, iMRI, functional MRI, CAT, CT angiography, Flash CT, PET and SPECT
