The Klabzuba Cancer Center at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth offers a comprehensive, community-based cancer program with services that include an inpatient oncology unit, outpatient services and enterostomal therapy. The hospital maintains a cancer registry for state and federal government reporting, and patients may participate in clinical research.
The Klabzuba Cancer Center is recognized by the Commission on Cancer (CoC) of the American College of Surgeons as an approved comprehensive community cancer program, ranking it among the best cancer treatment facilities in the country.
The center provides prevention and early detection services at the Kupferle Wellness for LifeSM Center and, in conjunction with physicians on the medical staff, through the Wellness for LifeSM program. Education and support services and a Cancer Resource Library are available to patients and the community at the Klabzuba Cancer Center. A variety of support groups for patients and caregivers also meet regularly.
The mission of the Klabzuba Cancer Center is to provide compassionate, quality services throughout the continuum of cancer care and to provide hope and peace to patients, families and the community. The program's vision of striving for a future without cancer is reflected in a continuum of services.
Awards and Honors Texas Health Fort Worth was named to Becker's Hospital Review's list of "100 Hospitals and Health Systems With Great Oncology Programs."
Cancer Health Kiosk Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth is the fifth hospital in the nation to offer the Cancer Health Kiosk to aid cancer patients and their families. The user-friendly kiosk is available in both English and Spanish and uses a touch screen to guide patients through educational information about cancer diagnosis, medication, treatment options and more. The Cancer Health Kiosk is housed on the 7th floor of Harris tower and was made possible through generous donations by the Texas Health Harris Methodist Foundation and the McWhorter family.
Cancer Boutique and Resource Center The Cancer Boutique and Resource Center at Texas Health Fort Worth is a unique boutique that assists cancer survivors with their specific needs in one convenient location, including:
- Bras
- Camisoles
- Prosthesis
- Bathing suits
- Wigs
- Scarves
- Hats
- Wicking wear
- Skin care products for those undergoing chemotherapy and radiation
- Reading materials and resources
- Inspirational gifts
