- Low patient volume
- Small rural hospital
- Supported by Texas Health tertiary care hospitals
- Flexible schedule
- Alternate coverage with second hospitalist every two to four days
- On call for 24 hours, but not required to stay at hospital entire shift
- 171 workdays per year
- 20 weekends per year
