Texas Health Southwest Fort Worth Earns National Recognition for Quality in Respiratory Care|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Southwest Fort Worth earned recognition for quality in respiratory care from the American Association for Respiratory Care for the second year in a row.
The Quality Respiratory Care Recognition Program helps patients and families make informed decisions about the quality of the respiratory care services available in hospitals. Facilities that earn the designation help increase patient safety by adhering to strict care guidelines, such as making respiratory therapists available 24 hours a day and designating a doctor of medicine or osteopath as medical director of its services.
Nearly 700 U.S. hospitals, or approximately 15 percent, have received this award. A full list of recognized hospitals can be found on the association’s website for consumers, YourLungHealth.org.
“Our team is comprised of certified and registered respiratory therapists and an EKG technician who all strive to provide the highest quality respiratory care services to our patients,” said Dan Perrine, manager of the hospital’s cardiopulmonary department. “This recognition highlights the work that we do every day, and we are honored to be recognized by our peers in the respiratory care profession.”
