“We are truly grateful for the support of the Dudley’s to this project,” said Sam Walls, chairman of the hospital’s board of directors. “This project has been a vision for many years and it wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of the Dudley’s and others in the community.”

In addition to the lead gift from the Dudley’s, philanthropic support was provided by the Black & White Gala Committee, who recognized the importance of this project and provided the initial funding to start the expansion. The employees of Texas Health Cleburne also supported the project through their annual employee giving campaign.

In an 18-month project, the hospital renovated its existing operating rooms into larger, more modern operating suites, and added two new rooms. The hospital now has a total of five operating rooms.

“A strong community hospital is so vital to a prosperous community,” said Howard Dudley. “As longstanding residents of Johnson County, Sherry and I feel it is imperative to support Texas Health Cleburne so that the hospital can continue to provide the best health care possible to all it serves as our community continues to grow.”

The new space will allow the hospital to expand its surgical and endoscopic capabilities. Having the extra capacity should help hospital administrators to recruit surgeons to the area.

“Through the continued support of the Dudley’s, the Black & White Gala Committee and other individuals, the community has consistently and generously invested in the work of Texas Health Cleburne,” said Blake Kretz, FACHE, hospital president. “We can proudly say this project was done by the community for the benefit of the community. On the behalf of our operating room employees and physicians on the medical staff we appreciate your support.”
