Texas Rehabilitation Hospital Brings Inpatient Traumatic Brain Injury, Spinal Cord Rehabilitation to Tarrant County|
FORT WORTH, Texas — Texas Rehabilitation Hospital (TRH), a 50-bed comprehensive, acute, inpatient rehabilitation hospital, now offers inpatient traumatic brain injury and spinal cord rehabilitation to Tarrant County residents. Prior to the opening of TRH, patients who had brain or spine injuries traveled to Dallas for care.
“This new hospital gives patients and their families advanced rehabilitation options close to home,” said Russell Bailey, chief executive officer of TRH. “Our hope is that this facility will offer patients who have suffered devastating illness or injury improved quality of life and independence.”
TRH is a joint venture between Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth and Centerre Healthcare Corporation. The facility is located near Texas Health Fort Worth and provides comprehensive inpatient treatment services for patients recovering from:
“Texas Health Fort Worth is a Level II trauma and stroke center of excellence,” said Oscar L. Amparan, president of Texas Health Fort Worth. “The growing number of patients needing intense inpatient rehabilitation far exceeded the total capacity of the inpatient rehabilitation unit at the hospital. We are thrilled to partner with Centerre on a much needed resource for our community.”
The new facility was built on 3.4 acres of land owned by Texas Health Fort Worth. The 58,800 square-foot rehabilitation hospital provides a number of specialized services including nursing care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and other related services. TRH is also houses a therapeutic pool, a therapy gym with the latest equipment, a therapy courtyard and an “activities of daily living” training suite. Physical medicine, rehabilitation physicians and doctors with other medical specialties on the medical staff at Texas Health Fort Worth also work closely with this team.
