Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville Names New Chief Nursing Officer|
STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville named Cindy McCarthy, MBA, MHA, BSN, CEN, chief nursing officer (CNO). She joined Texas Health Stephenville as interim CNO in May. After an extensive search and review of candidates and her eight weeks serving in the interim role, McCarthy has demonstrated that her experience and leadership style will enable her to continue advancing the hospital’s nursing and patient care initiatives.
“We are pleased that Cindy has agreed to now join the Texas Health Stephenville leadership team as the fully appointed CNO,” said Christopher Leu, president of the hospital. “Her past experiences and her current education path make her an asset to our nursing team.”
In recent years, McCarthy has served in several interim nursing leadership roles in various hospitals around the country, ranging from community hospitals to large academic medical centers. She is a member of the Emergency Nurses Association and American Organization of Nurse Executives. In addition to her existing advanced degrees, she anticipates receiving her doctorate of nursing practice from Texas Christian University in the spring of 2012.
“I’m looking forward to settling in Stephenville,” said McCarthy. “I’ve enjoyed working here and feel right at home.”
McCarthy and her husband, John, have a daughter, son and daughter-in-law.
