Trauma Intensive Care Unit at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth Receives Award for Excellence|
FORT WORTH, Texas — The Trauma Intensive Care Unit (TICU) at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Fort Worth was recently awarded the Bronze Beacon Award for Excellence by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). Texas Health Fort Worth, a level II trauma center, is the only hospital in the state of Texas to achieve this honor.
The national award recognizes unit caregivers who demonstrate success in developing, deploying and integrating best practices for optimal patient and family outcomes. The 20-bed unit cares for acutely ill patients with traumatic injuries, some of the hospital’s sickest patients.
“This honor signifies our commitment to creating an exceptional environment of care for the patients of this community, said Oscar L. Amparan, president of Texas Health Fort Worth. “Our goal is to create a healing environment that emphasizes best practices in both clinical and compassionate care.”
Units that receive the designation have met criteria that are consistent with Magnet Program Recognition, the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award and the National Quality Healthcare Award.
