Emergency Department Entrance Moved at Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville|
STEPHENVILLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Stephenville announced today that the main entrance of the hospital, located off Graham Street, will now also serve as the entrance for the emergency department (ED). As of Sept. 4, the ambulance bay at the ED will no longer serve as the ambulatory entrance for the hospital.
“The main entrance at Texas Health Stephenville is an easier access point for our patients,” said Cindy McCarthy, chief nursing officer. “We are working to make it easier for patients to get assessed in a faster manner.”
Emergency patients can now enter the main entrance and be visually assessed by a triage nurse while registering. The nurse will determine the patient’s acuity and seek immediate care for patients who are deemed to be critical. Patients who are deemed to be contagious will be given masks and if appropriate, isolated.
“We feel this new process will help patients seeking emergency care,” said McCarthy. “The registration process will be faster and more convenient.”
