Accreditation Given to MRI Facility at Texas Health Harris Methodist Outpatient Center Burleson|
BURLESON, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Outpatient Center Burleson has received accreditation from the American College of Radiologists (ACR) in the field of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, or MRI.
The accreditation signifies that the imaging performed is meeting or exceeding the standards when compared to other MRI facilities across the country. ACR’s accreditation process includes a rigorous review of the facility, the equipment and the staff’s qualifications. Texas Health Burleson, which opened in April 2010, achieved the distinction in less than two years.
“ACR accreditation exemplifies excellence,” said Becky Tucker, administrator of Texas Health Burleson. “It also is indicative of the emphasis we place on keeping our patients safe while providing quality medical care. This is a significant accomplishment for us, and I commend our staff for their continued commitment to service.”
MRIs create detailed images of organs and structures inside the body without the use of radiation. While many facilities offer MRI services, Texas Health Burleson offers the only Open High-Field MRI in the Tarrant and Johnson county region. This equipment provides quality images while still allowing the patient to have an unobstructed view during the scan, a feature which can be very beneficial for people who experience claustrophobia.
The accreditation is the latest recognition for the center. Also in December, the facility’s pathology lab received accreditation from the College of American Pathologists. Other services provided by Texas Health Burleson include physical, sports and hand rehabilitation, cardiac rehabilitation, a fitness center, a 24-hour, seven-day-a-week emergency department and a variety of diagnostic services for women.
