DallasChild Magazine Names Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano 'Best Place to Have a Baby'|
PLANO, Texas — Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano is thrilled to have been voted the “Best Place to Have a Baby” in Collin County by readers of DallasChild magazine.
When it comes to having babies in Collin County, Texas Health Plano offers everything from assisted reproductive technologies to help women get pregnant to high-risk pregnancies and a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and everything in between. The hospital also offers a wide array of classes to help prepare parents for the birth and support groups to help new moms once the baby is here.
“We are very pleased that so many mothers in Collin County choose to have their babies with us,” said Tracy Morgan, R.N., director of Women’s and Children’s Services at Texas Health Plano. “Caregivers on the units and physicians on the medical staff are honored to play such a special role in a mother’s life. That our patients voted us to win this honor makes it even more special.”
Texas Health Plano also is one of seven hospitals in Texas designated “Baby Friendly” by the World Health Organization, an honor that recognizes a comprehensive approach to breastfeeding support. The hospital offers breastfeeding classes, a breastfeeding support group run by a lactation consultant, and A Mother’s Gift, a store that sells breastfeeding and other newborn supplies.
Each year, about 3,800 babies are born at Texas Health Plano.
