Texas Health Kaufman Names Chairperson for 2012 Black Tie Ball|
KAUFMAN, Texas — Jo Ann Talbot, Kaufman’s city secretary, has been named chairperson of the 2012 Black Tie Ball benefitting Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman. The 5th annual fundraiser helps support the hospital’s non-profit work to provide prenatal care for low-income, uninsured women in the Kaufman community.
The 2012 gala will be held Nov. 10 at the new Omni Hotel in downtown Dallas. Last year’s Black Tie Ball raised $50,000, bringing the gala’s five-year fundraising total to more than $160,000 for women’s and children’s service in the Kaufman area.
“I’m excited because I know that this year’s event is in good hands with Jo Ann leading the way,” said Wendy Thomas, chair of the 2011 gala. “She’s been a strong supporter of the hospital and our annual gala for many years.”
Talbot has been a member of the Black Tie Ball planning committee for the last two years. “It’s a thrill to be a part of an event that’s so much fun and supports such a good cause,” Talbot said.
The 2012 Black Tie Ball will include dinner, auction and dancing. Proceeds will help support prenatal care for low-income and uninsured women in the local area. The goal is to help women have healthy pregnancies and diagnose complications before they cause serious problems for their babies.
