Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano to Host Cancer Survivors Day Celebration on June 3|
PLANO, Texas — Each year Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano encourages members of the community, particularly those whose lives have been impacted in some way by cancer, to come celebrate Cancer Survivors Day.
The free event will be held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 3 at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano. The event will be held in the Tower C lobby and entrance, which faces Parker Road near the intersection of Communications Parkway and Parker Road.
This year the hospital has added a Cancer Awareness Carnival where individuals and their families can play games, get health information, earn prizes and enjoy treats. Local organizations like the American Cancer Society will be on hand to answer questions too.
Then at 2:20 p.m., Sally Baskey, a local author of Laughter, Her Drug of Choice, will speak about how to find humor in life’s difficult situations.
“Cancer Survivors Day is one example of how the employees at Texas Health Plano strive to care for our whole community — mind, body and spirit,” said Dr. Jeffrey Canose, FACHE, hospital president. “From information to lessen your risk factors for cancer to providing support to those seeking treatment, Texas Health Plano’s Cancer Survivors Day serves as a tribute to the celebration of life and we welcome all members of the community to come join us.”
