Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen to Host Cancer Survivors Day Celebration|
ALLEN, Texas — Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Allen, will host its annual Cancer Survivors Day event on Sunday, June 3. Each year Texas Health Allen encourages members of the community, particularly those whose lives have been impacted in some way by cancer, to come celebrate Cancer Survivors Day.
The free event will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Real Bookstore, located at 113 Prairie Road in Fairview.
The event will feature speakers:
- Johnna McClure, an ovarian cancer survivor and author of “I’m Living With It, Not Dying From it”
- Faith Kuczaj, a non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma survivor and Cancer Support Community Collin County Member
- Alex Daggett, a 19-year-old two-time bone cancer survivor performing a skit with Mary McAndrew.
“Cancer Survivors Day is one example of how the employees at Texas Health Allen strive to care for our whole community — mind, body and spirit,” said Sarah Mitchell, Texas Health Allen’s community outreach manager. “Cancer Survivors Day serves as a tribute to the celebration of life and we welcome all members of the community to come join us.”
