Texas Health Azle Receives National Recognition for Safe and Efficient Care|
AZLE, Texas — Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle is the only hospital in the nation to receive the QUEST Award for High-value Healthcare from Premier healthcare alliance for consistently providing outstanding patient care and setting a high standard in clinical excellence.
The hospital achieved top performance thresholds over the first three quarters of 2011 in all six QUEST measurements that include mortality, cost of care, evidence-based care, harm, patient experience and readmissions.
“This accomplishment of our team of employees, physicians and board members exemplifies our commitment to transform the way we deliver health care in the communities we serve,” said Bob Ellzey, FACHE, president of Texas Health Azle. “We are committed to achieving a higher standard of excellence that is both safe and brings high-value for our patients.
Premier is a performance improvement alliance of more than 2,600 U.S. hospitals and 84,000-plus other health care sites using the power of collaboration to lead the transformation to high quality, cost-effective care.
Texas Health Azle also received the Supply Chain Excellence Award for community hospitals with fewer than 158 beds. The award was presented for achieving and sustaining strong supply chain expense performance.
Two other Texas Health hospitals were recognized by Premier: Texas Health Arlington Memorial Hospital, which won an award for supply chain excellence for a community hospital with more than 158 beds, and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Kaufman, which was a finalist for the QUEST Award for High-value Healthcare.
“We are honored by this recognition,” said Mark C. Lester, M.D., executive vice president and Southeast zone clinical leader for Texas Health Resources. “These achievements demonstrate the commitment of our staff at Texas Health Azle and other Texas Health hospitals to continually improve our care for the communities we serve.”
