Free Prostate Screening Event Offered at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano|
PLANO, Texas — An estimated 241,740 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year, according to estimates from the American Cancer Society.
An estimated one in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lives, but most men do not die from the disease.
That’s why early detection is important.
Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano will host a free prostate screening event from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 8. The event will be held in the Patient Access Center, located in the main hospital building.
“Having annual screenings completed is a good way to keep a handle on your risk factors for many diseases and cancers,” said Carinsa Gaston, oncology program manager at Texas Health Plano.
To register in advance for the screening, call 1-877-THR-WELL (1-877-847-9355).
